This is a portrait I shot for the Boston Globe Magazine of Stephen Scherer. This 19 year old West Point sophomore won the Olympic trials in 10 meter air rifle and will be shooting in Beijing. His whole family was there for the shoot– all of them shooters even though the mom was anti guns from since he was little. You can read the whole story here. The custom made leather suit he’s wearing in the photo is to keep him still while he’s shooting.
